Thanks, Steve
I and the rest of my colleagues on AttentionTrust's Board of Directors want to express our gratitude to Steve Gillmor, AttentionTrust's co-founder, who recently made the decision to step down from the Board. Steve has been the leading voice on attention over the past few years, and AttentionTrust came into being when he and Seth Goldstein put their heads together and determined that an independent, nonprofit organization was needed to support the principle that users should control their own attention data.
Steve thoughts on attention and other topics will continue to evolve at ZDNet, the Gillmor Gang and Gillmor Daily podcasts, and AttentionTech. He's also working on GestureBank (nothing online yet), which, as he explained at last night's SDForum Search SIG will serve as an open, anonymized pool of aggregated attention data. The rest of us will be able to compare our individual attention data against GestureBank's pool in order to make inferences about the meaning of our own data. It has the potential to be extremely useful, and I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Thank you, Steve, not only for your contributions to AttentionTrust, but also for helping the rest of us make sense of this new world we find ourselves exploring.
